Ascension Dissension
This performance was developed for the RIAP (Rencontre Internationale d’art de la Performance) in Québec. It comprises a series of actions related to the themes of identity, death and elevation. These are supported by a dynamic between a performer and a mechanical structure which has the former pulled on different surfaces.
The space is organized so that the performer is moved and pull by a winch system. Feet tied, he is pulled over a surface composed of layers of paper covered with soil. A video image is projected onto this surface, but is revealed only as the performer moves and reveals the surface.
