On va tous y passer
On va tous y passer is an interactive video installation set in a transit space.
A camera films the area where the installation is located. A monitor displays this video image in real time in a manner of surveillance equipment. This image is however altered so that some of the passersby present on the premises disappear. On va tous y passer is intended to trouble the perceptions of the passerby in public spaces in order to instil doubts about the physical reality, about the concreteness of the others.
The passerby is a being whose existence is fleeting; we briefly cross their path and then, they cease to exist. The installation underlines this ontological characteristic. These faceless, anonymous beings effectively become inexistent.
